Guidelines for Buying Cordless Tool Batteries
Go Through These Guidelines before Purchasing your Power Tool Batteries.
All cordless power tools work by utilising batteries as their power source, whether it is cordless phone or some other cordless tool. Cordless tool batteries are efficient to use and cost effective. It is not always necessary to consider battery voltage when choosing your power tool batteries. Choosing your power tool batteries also depends on other factors. Thus, for the battery tools, it is necessary to look into factors such as ampere/hour and battery type. It has been noted that sometimes, due to good battery performance, many 14.2 volt tools outperform 19.4 volt tools.
To rate a cordless tool battery, amperage hours and voltage are used. So, before purchasing any power tool battery just keep these points in mind. You should not be surprised to know that amperage hours are used to determine how long a battery will last and voltage refers to the flow or strength of the electrical current.
It has been proved that higher the voltage in conjunction with higher amp/hr the stronger the battery. Thus, stronger batteries last longer and make the power tools more work effective. You will find that cordless power tool batteries are usually available in 1.4, 2.4 and 3.0 amp/hr. You can find these ratings either at the upper or the lower end of the battery. If you are unable to see it then you can ask the retailer to provide you the information about the battery voltage.
When choosing a Cordless Tool Battery, you need also consider the charging time. Many old batteries need to be charged every hour as they lose the charge more frequently, whereas the output of work is also too less. And, usually they need to be charged for more than six hours, this adds to more electric bill. Apart from this if you have more work to do then it will be total wastage of time. Batteries of good companies such as Makita, DeWalt, Hitachi, etc., usually require just 15 to 20 minutes getting recharged.
When purchasing high cost power tool batteries it is also important to follow maintenance instructions given by manufacturers. Batteries need to be serviced regularly for longer life. And, once the battery is worn out it needs to be replaced. But, during replacement it’s economical to change the entire tool kit. This will cost less compare to purchase of new two batteries.
